4 inspiring reasons to launch a skincare business this year

So – you’ve decided 2022 is YOUR YEAR (because we all deserve a good year after the last couple, right?!). And you’re thinking of launching your dream skincare brand.

Here are four inspiring ways it could change not only your life – but the lives of others too.

1. Unlock your creativity and ditch the day job

Stuck in the corporate rat race? Or a dead-end job you’re doing for money, not love?

I can totally relate, as this is the exact reason I started Wild Leaf Botanicals way back in 2015. I wanted a creative outlet from my corporate day job, and to be able to explore my passion for natural skincare and native botanicals. I loved being able to express my personality through my branding and get creative while developing products.

Side hustles are a super popular way to dip your toe into having a business, and your day job can help fund your skincare startup! You can then work towards achieving your dream of ditching that day job and taking your dream skincare brand full-time.

What are you passionate about, e.g. skincare, makeup, haircare, sustainability?

2. Find freedom and flexibility

Having your own business means you can be your own boss and set your own hours, so you can better balance your other commitments, like family time and social life.

Not only that, you’ll earn extra income, and with that comes more freedom.

Yes, there are costs involved, but like any business, your aim is to make a profit – which will make you feel financially stronger and more independent.

How would you spend or invest the extra income from your own skincare business? (my guilty pleasure = travel).

3. Supercharge your personal growth

Have a business is the perfect opportunity to gain confidence and upskill yourself in a whole range of areas. As a business owner you’ll have to wear many hats, from marketing, research and development, compliance, website designer and customer service to name a few.

You’ll quickly learn the areas you like and are good at, and which areas you want to outsource. But overall, by putting yourself and your brand out there, you’ll gain so much confidence. Particularly when customers love your brand and you get amazing feedback!

4. Make an impact

Perhaps you and your family or friends have seen amazing results from a skincare product you made, and you want to share it with the world and make a difference.

Whether you want to change the world, or change the world for one person, having this as your purpose will be hugely rewarding. It’ll keep you motivated during those difficult times (yes – there will be difficult times, but there’ll also be incredible times, and everything in between).
